The roles
Head chef
As a chef here, you'll do more than cook; you'll serve up exciting creative meals that tingle the tastebuds of our residents.
You'll use your culinary skills to plan mouthwatering recipes, while understanding their dietary requirements and preferences - ensuring every dish supports their health and puts a smile on their face. You'll also join a team of people passionate about food…
Your responsibilities:
- Leading and mentoring the catering team
- Maintaining food hygiene and health and safety standards.
- Developing delicious seasonal menus
- Collaborating with departments to coordinate special events for residents as needed.
Sous chef
Sous chefs at Caring Homes will need to use their passion for cooking to support the Head Chef. You’ll help plan and prepare meals that meet residents’ needs, manage the inventory and lead the kitchen assistant team. You’ll also make sure every dish is up to scratch, both in taste and presentation.
Your responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing high-quality, nutritious meals
- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to safety standards
- Support and mentor kitchen staff
- Create and update menus that align with residents’ dietary needs and preferences
What you’ll bring to the roles:
- A real passion for food
- A culinary degree or equivalent experience in a professional kitchen (for Head Chefs and Sous Chefs)
- Experience in catering and an understanding of dietary needs
- The ability to adapt and be flexible
- Compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality catering to our residents
