Apprentice of the Year 2026: Celebrating Excellence in Care
We are very proud to announce that Ashleigh O’Brien has been named Apprentice of the Year by the University of Winchester, recognising her outstanding commitment, professionalism and impact as a Nursing Associate Apprentice at Latham Lodge Nursing and Care Home.
Balancing full-time work with the demands of her apprenticeship, Ashleigh consistently exceeds expectations, confidently applying academic learning into practice, sharing best practice with colleagues and helping to raise standards of care across her home.
Her achievement reflects both her personal dedication and the positive impact on residents through improved person-centred care, stronger communication and evidence-based approaches. As her tutor, Penny Marsh from the University of Winchester, shared:
“After visiting Latham Lodge and hearing about the support Ashleigh offers others, it was clear this award was so well deserved. She is a real credit to Caring Homes.”
Huge Congratulations to Ashleigh.
