Volunteer Gardener - Benson House, Wallingford, Oxfordshire
 
  •  70 Bedded nursing, dementia and residential home
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer gardener to help maintain and enhance our gardens. As a volunteer gardener, you will play a crucial role in creating a vibrant and therapeutic outdoor space for our residents to enjoy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planting, watering, and weeding flower beds and borders
  • Pruning shrubs and trees
  • Maintaining lawns, including mowing and edging
  • Seasonal planting and garden planning
  • Assisting with garden-based activities for residents, such as planting workshops or garden tours
  • Ensuring tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly
Requirements:
  • Passionate about gardening and the outdoors
  • Reliable and able to commit to regular volunteering hours
  • Friendly and approachable with good communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • No prior gardening experience is necessary, but a willingness to learn is essential
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working in a care home or healthcare environment.
