After 17 years and at the age of 50, Shelley decided to have a career change into care after a life changing event in her personal life.

Although no qualifications on paper, having experience of caring for someone and a strong desire to have a career as a carer, Shelley was accepted onto the Consensus Apprenticeship Scheme.

Shelley now couldn’t be happier and makes a huge positive difference to people’s lives on a daily basis at Holland House where she cares and supports people with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Having completed her NVQ levels 1 and 2, Shelley is now working towards her NVQ level 3.
